Although the vast majority of the body of her work is in the Malayalam language, she has mastered cinematic rendition in both Tamil and Hindi as well. She is a notable student of the veteran carnatic vocalist and composer Sri Perumbavoor G Ravindranath. Saritha, from a very young age, displayed an effervescent passion for music and the arts winning her several prestigious prizes and titles at both the school and the university levels including the light music competitions of Kerala State Youth Festival of the academic year 1991-‘92 and Kerala University Youth Festival of 1995-‘96.
Further embellishing her successful career in playback singing, she won the award for the best female singer at the Satyajit Ray International Short Film and Documentary Festival. Saritha is a member of numerous organisations for Indian playback singers including the Indian Singer’s Rights Association (ISRA) and SAMAM (Singer’s Associate of the Malayalam Film Industry). Saritha is also an A-grade artist of light music at the All India Radio.
