Dr. Balamurali is a disciple of renowned Artists Late Sri . Mavelikkara Prabhakara Varma and Neyyatinkara Vasudevan . He was Initially trained Classical Music by his father Kollam P.G Gopinathan Nair.
After completing his BA, and MA in Music, Dr. Balamurali has done his MPhil in Music and is a performing artist in the field of Classical and Instrumental music for the past 30 Years. He has worked as a Guest Lecturer in Kerala University, Kalamandalam Deemed University and Kannur University for many years. He has performed various prestigious Sangeetha Sabhas in India and Abroad .
Dr. Balamurali has won the 'Kalaprathibha' title in the Calicut University E-Zone Kalotsavam during the year 1992. He has A-Grade in Classical Music and B- High in Light Music from All India Radio (AIR), Thrissur, Kerala.
